The women’s hostel of Sree Narayana College, Chengannur are having a total of 11 rooms including one Matron’s residence room. The total capacity of hostel is 42 students. At present the hostel is running with full strength. The rooms are properly ventilated and provided with fans, tube lights and furnished with cot, a chair and a study table for each student. There is a mess hall attached to the hostel. The seating capacity of the mess is 45 students. Allstudents are taking their meals in the mess. The menu is managed by mess committee comprising of a group of 5 students and Matron. Hostel and Mess committee is responsible for the smooth functioning of the hostel. Mess facilities are under the supervision of hostel advisory committee. The student representatives are elected from each batch. The hostel is running under the dividing system. The homely and the family atmosphere is cherished among the inmates through mutual understanding and moral support to each other. Also the hostel is well secured and guarded for 24 hrs.
OBJECTIVES
Students will be able to –
- To provide clean, safe and comfortable accommodation effectively and efficiently to the students.
- Devote adequate time to their studies.
- Learn to live together and strengthen their relations with mutual co-operation and goodwill as they come from different part of the state.
- Utilize different facilities available to them.
- Participate in different co-curricular activities.
- Enjoy good quality food that keeps them fit and healthy.
- Maintain conductive atmosphere for study and interchange of thoughts and ideas.

Major achievements of hostel advisory committee
- In the academic year 21-22, by considering the increasing need for hostel accommodation, hostel advisory committee took the bold step to expand the intake capacity. The intake strength was expanded from 34 to 42 during the academic year. A cot, study table and a chair is provided for the expanded seats.
- Mess seating capacity is also expanded to 45 seats
- The front area of the hostel has been cleaned and levelled with interlock tiles to make the hostel aesthetically beautiful and clean.
- The toilets are renovated
- For the smooth conduct of mess, the facilities in the kitchen are improvised. ? Recreation activities are provided to the students.
